Low Traffic Neighbourhoods

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods are streets or communities built or adapted for low traffic in residential streets. Vehicles still have access to homes and businesses, but through-traffic is usually not permitted. Low Traffic Neighbourhoods reduce air and noise pollution, and make it safer to walk, wheel and bike, among other benefits.

CoHSAT's work on this issue

CoHSAT supports Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in Oxfordshire. We have contributed to various consultations about the LTNs pilots in Cowley and East Oxford.

CoHSAT has produced a residents guide and a campaigners guide to support residents.

We have also compiled a list of links to key evidence on the effects of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.
