Popup Experience Poster - How do we build a better Oxford?

#BetterOxford – What do you think?

The Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel (CoHSAT) is sharing ideas for better public realm, more cycling provision and pedestrianisation. We want to see an ambitious approach to tackling congestion and improving public transport and walking and cycling in Oxford.

Please complete this short survey to let us know what you think of the ideas.

  1. Piecemeal solutions do not work. Your plan needs to consider the wider community extending over the whole of central Oxfordshire. A traffic free city would be marvellous, but we cannot assume that public transport will be shunned long term. It is likely that there will be less need for peak hour travel, which means that transport systems can be more flexible – no need for peak hour capacity, much of which is redundant outside peaks. Given that most people who need to travel to Oxford centre and the eastern arc live outside the city, a modern rapid transit network, integrated with buses and active transport should be built. This should extend to Witney and Abindon at least.
